A father in Florida had recorded some footage of his daughter, and without thinking much of it, he decided to share it on social media with his friends. Almost overnight, the simple video went viral for the wrong reason after horrified people saw what else the camera caught. Now, the dad is practically getting death threats for it.
Buck Holly is pretty proud of his little girl Noah after she seemingly mastered a skill he taught her that he wanted others to see. While some only saw her recorded accomplishment, others were distracted by something else in the shot and used Buck and his video as their example of all that’s wrong in the world today.
Buck comes across as the kind of guy who doesn’t seem to care about other people’s opinions about him personally or a particular passion he’s open about. As the father of two daughters and owner of C&H Precision Weapons in the town of La Belle, his parenting style isn’t always appreciated by a portion of society that came out in droves with their hate after his video got around. Buck takes safety seriously and ensures that his daughters can defend themselves, but liberals feel that he went too far with what he taught his youngest to do.
Little Noah is seen in the footage firing off several large weapons that any gun-lover would be proud to have in their collection. With her father by her side coaching her on proper use, she confidently pulled the trigger and hit her target with precision that both she and her dad should be proud of. It’s clear that this isn’t the little pro’s first “rodeo,” as she knows her way around a gun that’s about as big as her. However, that didn’t stop the anti-gunners from criticizing Buck for making a “killer” out of his daughter and putting her own wellbeing in danger, according to Opposing Views.
After heaps of hateful commentary poured in, Buck was forced to address his detractors. “I would invite each and every one of my critics to come to the range with me and my family and participate in it. See how things really happen,” he began, before explaining that they don’t have the right to judge him on a something they don’t understand.
“They got to see a 30-second snippet of a little girl shooting. What they don’t see is the preparation that goes into it. They don’t see her asking and begging for more ammo. So I would tell my critics, feel free to criticize me. That’s our lifestyle. But before you criticize, come and try it and experience it for yourself,” he said.
Buck went on to explain that before any shots were even fired, he engrained the risk of weapons into his little girl. This is a conversation that started as soon as she could comprehend the words he was saying and hasn’t stopped. Being raised with this knowledge is what prevents her from being one of the curious kids who gets ahold of her parent’s gun and accidentally shoots someone — which Buck was accused of encouraging, among other uneducated accusations.
Just like with anything else, kids are curious about what is kept a mystery from them and will want to explore it for themselves, especially if it’s a shunned topic. This father has personally trained his girls not to be a statistic in a number of ways, and they are safer for his attention on these things. People fear what they don’t understand and if they took the time to learn and become comfortable with it, rather than criticize and demand action against it, there would be far less victims in this world.
